A Card Day

A Card Day

Happy Birthday

For some reason I have no backlog of birthday cards, which means I have to make them individually every time a birthday comes up. Which is fine. Only sometimes I forget. So I’m trying to make a few to have on hand (duh!). I made this one using the June Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp and a sentiment from a new-to-me stamp set, Friendship Messages, also by Simon Says Stamp. I love the script, and the set has really useful sentiments for all kinds of cards.

This one started with the flowers from the June card kit–I just wanted to do the white embossing and ink over them. Once I had cut them out I needed a destination for them, and the card evolved from there. Again, the sentiment is from the Friendship Messages set. Sweet. Don’t tell anyone, but one of those pink dots is covering an ink smudge…

This week’s Monday Challenge at Simon Says Stamp is “anything goes”–so I think these qualify! Check out the challenge and the fun inspiration on their blog here.

  1. Great cards, I love how you’ve used the June card kit! Thanks for joining us for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

  2. Love the Happy Birthday card, looks very classy and pretty.

Also love the pink flowers on your other card. Using the white ink makes it look so soft and pretty. I only thought to use black ink, doesn’t look so great. Live and learn I guess.

  3. Hi,

We have a feature on our Simon Says Stamp blog called ‘Spotted’ where we showcase the awesome talents of some of our customers!

I would love to feature your ‘Sending Hugs’ card that you shared on your blog, in our July feature and just wanted to check if that would be okay with you.

If you could email me back and let me know as soon as you can, that would be great.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks so much!
