Art Journaling

rest & trust

This is a page in my Documented Life Planner. The prompt for week 16 was to add cardboard from food packaging, so I used part of a box from some herbal tea I’d finished recently. I also included a tea tag and part of the (emptied) tea bag. It was relaxing tea, so “rest & trust” seemed the right message, and after a busy couple of weeks, I really needed the reminder. It will all work out, even if I take time to relax with a cup of tea at the end of the day. Maybe especially if I relax with a cup of tea at the end of the day.

The background to the page is from Gelli printed deli papers. A couple days ago I needed a break from people and from being a grown-up and took some time to do a bunch of Gelli prints. It’s always absorbing play that helps ground me.

I used a few of the tags on our young people’s Easter baskets, and the rest will find their way into art journals, I expect. I have a stack of new lovely deli papers for collage. And, best of all, I finished feeling relaxed and refocused and happy, which is good for me and good for my family.
