I’m ready to start on holiday card making. To kick start my process, I signed up for Holiday Card Workshop 2014 at Online Card Classes. This is my first class there, and I must say that I am pretty impressed so far. Every card has a video and a PDF, which I love, because the videos are genuinely helpful for seeing how techniques are done, but I can refer back to the PDFs more easily any time. It’s all well done, and the cards are fun and inspiring. I can predict that this will not be my last card at Online Card Classes.
I’ve watched a bunch of the videos and tried some of the techniques, though only produced a few finished cards so far. The panel above is actually not a finished card, but I really like how it turned out, with watercolor over white heat embossing. I may use it as home decor, as it’s not a standard card size–I was so eager to try the technique that I didn’t give much thought to the size of my watercolor paper! The images around the edges are from Lawn Fawn’s Deck the Halls set, and the sentiment is from Peace on Earth by Simon Says Stamp.
This square card also uses a watercolor technique; I used Tim Holtz Distress Markers along with Tim Holtz stamps and Ranger Stickles. I like the old-fashioned feel of these stamps, and I’m submitting this for the Monday Challenge “Good Ol’ Days” at Simon Says Stamp here.
Stop back on Monday for a few more cards!
