Shake, Shake, Shake!

Shake, Shake, Shake!

This past week I created not one but two shaker cards, my first ever. Yes, amazing. I’m pretty sure I won’t be making these every day, but they are pretty fun.

This was my first attempt. The idea of putting the sequins inside the coffee cup comes from Vicky Papaioannou at Clips-n-Cuts. I loved her card and couldn’t help but lift her idea. I used the Simon Says Stamp October Card Kit.

I got a little more ambitious on my second card after watching a few more shaker card tutorial videos, both in the Holiday Card Workshop at Online Card Classes and elsewhere around the web.

I had quite a few mess-ups along the way making this one–I am patting myself on the back for not giving up! I used my Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle dies to cut the panels and the frame–I find myself using these on almost every card. The papers are from the Simon Says Stamp November Card Kit–that fun patterned paper with the bunny is from Lawn Fawn. The greeting is from Holiday Hellos by Simon Says Stamp. The strip at the top inside the window covers up a bad heat embossing job, and I had to make the pink frame twice due to a stamping error. I know the greeting is still crooked, but I’m thinking that adds to the homemade charm. Ya think?

Happy creating!
